video: Seb Kemp winning the dual world champ’s at Steve Peat’s house

As an added bonus to my weekend up in Sheffield for the Steel City Downhill I was lucky enough to make it to the This is Sheffield organised Dual ‘World Champs’, held at Steve Peat’s dual track.

Here’s a gopro of race winner and keyboard warrior Seb Kemp’s final run.

TiS’s Joe Bowman has been banging on about how “dual is the future” for months now and I’ve never quite believed him … but having spent a day bashing berms in the Sheffield sun I’m starting to come round!

The race was a no fuss affair – 2 rollers, 5 berms and a table. We had about 20 riders, with the top 16 qualifying to motos. Everyone paid £2 to enter and donated a ‘prize’ of their choice which included everything from a pair of 5:10 shoes to Emily Horridges light bulbs out of her van!

The start list included little fish like me … and big guns like Josh Lewis, Seb Kemp, Jess Stone … and the surprisingly talented TiS boys! Motos went down, riders smashed some berms, there were a few shady crashes and eventually keyboard warrior Seb Kemp took the win, choosing Haribo and a bottle of cheap fizz for his prize.

Thanks again to all for an amazing day of racing. We need to make dual big!
