We tripped down to Madison HQ for the IceBike show which seems to get bigger every year we go? The big story of the show was Saracen, both the range of bikes and the brand new race team.
Firstly though lets take a quick look at the bikes, we’re all well acquainted with the Myst DH bike which has been doing the rounds recently, the clean lines and bargain price tag are great for those looking for a quality bike on a tight budget. The bike which stole the show for us was the Ariel, it comes in four different flavours – 1, 2, 3 and the frame-only ‘x’, with only the build spec making the difference.

There has been a lot of thought gone into this 140mm bike – it comes with a big selection of drop outs to suit every need, including an optional Maxle dropout – perfect for those wanting stiffness with tool free wheel removal.

Anyway – the Saracen team! The team line up is: Harry Molloy, Manon Carpenter, Will Weston, Philip Atwill, Josh Lowe and Jack Geoghegan and they’ll be hitting it up on Myst DH bikes equipped with Fox 40′s and all the spangly goodness Madison can throw at them.
More details soon but one things for sure – its a good time to be a grassroots rider now!
These trade shows are always a tricky one to report from, as 99.9% of the product has been seen before but the Giro Xen lid below caught our eye straight away.

Continental are going places with their new range and the Mud King shown here is a ‘pre cut’ spike, designed for those conditions when you need a bit more traction but don’t want a full blown spike and the drag that comes with it.
