Diamondback/Raleigh visit part 3: the left overs

Morning all – last week was mad busy missioning all over the place for trade shows – meaning we didn’t get part 3 of our visit to RaleighHQ online. Don’t panic though, here she is! Alongside their excellent Diamondback offerings, Raleigh also distribute a number of quality gear and component brands. Here’s a few choice cuts from the show:

2011 San Marco Zero saddle: Last year’s ‘Dirty’ San Marco range was pretty spot on for hardcore riding. There’s new graphics for this year and a new light-weight carbon rail version.

The Vaude range of freeridey hydropacks was really impressive – with the two pictured above really catching my attention. There’s some nice colours, loads of space, the quality seems great and there’s heaps of loops, straps and buckles to attach pads and helmets. We’re hoping to get our mitts on a couple of these for a test as soon as possible!

The Unior tools range was on full display – along with some of the team’s local Slovenian special brew. Thankfully I was driving so could only sample the tools! Unior are MASSIVE, they’ve been making tools for years and they’ve just launched a full World Cup team that includes UK pinner Harry Heath. Expect big things from these guys.

SKS are making pumps beautiful for 2011, with these 2 catching my eye. Ok – they’re just pumps – but how slick is that first one?! It’s like the iPhone of bike pumps! The shock pump in the second shot is a bit more our cup of tea though and was really nicely engineered, super light and (thanks to the hose unscrewing) is the perfect size to chuck in your hydropack.

And that’s it! Thanks to all at Raleigh HQ for the chance to get behind the scenes and see what goes on. Look out for a lot more from them all year in Wideopen. Check out part 1 here and part 2 here.
