I just spotted this gem on Facebook and had to post it up as a bit of a good news story for everyone that’s missing out on bikes thanks to snow.
Darryl and co at the Cwm Down uplift at Cwm Carn have been struggling over the last couple of weeks with snow, ice and a closed uplift road. No road means no uplift and no uplift means no money. Bad news when you earn a crust from dragging kids up a hill!
So – they’ve taken action into their own hands and gone out and bought a gritter to clear the trails themselves. Heros or what? Daz says:
“Gritter fitted, just waiting for the green light from FC. Risk assessment going in first thing tomorrow morning. Then hopefully we can get cracking. I had to drive up to Derby to pick this thing up, only 3 left when I phoned, other 2 were sold by the time I got there. £1450+VAT BARGAIN!!!!!!”
