Music and riding seem to go hand in hand. Whether it’s in the car on route to a ride, in your headphones flowing round the trails or cut slickly against DVD footage… Riding just makes your favourite beats sound GOOD.
My good friend and riding buddy Simon probably knows about that better than most people – alongside DJ/VJ’ing for Solid Steel as ‘DJ Cheeba’ he loves getting out and ragging his Transition Bottle Rocket round our local trails.
Here’s his latest mix to get you warmed up for Friday night. Press play and check out the interview…
Solid Steel Radio Show 12/11/2010 Part 3 + 4 – DJ Cheeba by Ninja Tune & Big Dada
Who is DJ Cheeba?
Cheeba is futurist dj. I cut and paste sounds and pictures for people with short attention spans.
Tell us about your bike set up…
I’ve got a Transition Bottle Rocket. Bald tyres for better rolling speed, a solid coating of both red and brown mud to protect the paint, white v12s so i don’t miss my peddles, a nice picture of tinkerbell to help me think about boobs while on the push up and worn brakes to assist in minimising usage in hairy corners.
What about your music set up?
Rane 68, midi controllers, 3x tech 1200′s, Edirol v4, MBP, QFO, so many gadgets and gizmos its bordering on a ‘museum of modern disco goods’. Also Serato scratch live, video sl, Ableton live, Final cut pro etc.
