Seen all those product reviews that we pack into the magazine? Here’s the latest wave of kit that’s landed at WideopenHQ for the next issue. We’ll be giving all of this a kicking – on and off the race tracks – and reporting back on how it performed. Stay tuned.
Gore Ride On Professional cable kit – this one is made especially for remote lock out kits.
Continental X King 2.4 tyres. Fast rolling and grippy, designed with Dan Atherton’s feedback.
Five Ten Freerunner – sticky soles, super comfy with a nice casual style. Might be a nice change from the Factory Jackson look of the normal Five Ten range?
The brand new Five Ten Minaar shoe – for use with SPD/Clips. Team rider Dave has been rocking these for a couple of weeks now and loves ‘em. He reckons they look good, the sole is stiff enough without being too much and they don’t make him look like a Power Ranger in the pub. Good call.
The new Giro Xar lid – simple and stylish with an awesome adjustment system.

Ive got the new minnaar shoes, they are the best clip shoes you can buy
The Xar is awesome – great design and the adjustment is nice and subtle, even easier than Roc-loc on the old Xen. Great fit too, light, comfy and looks rad. Nice range of colourways and on this bronzey one the ‘X’ on the back has a funky brown and turquoise design. Mind you at a ton it should give you super powers! Worth it? That’s up to you but it is a damn fine helmet!
