Bit of exclusive breaking news here for y’all –
Si Paton and Dave Francoisy (The current Halo BritishDHSeries organisers) have been awarded a contract to run the national series until 2013.
Dave says:
” British Cycling have been impressed with what we’ve done so far this season – and to get even bigger companies on board we need a long contract – so we’ve got the series until 2013.
We’re also bidding for the National Champs in 2011 and have got the town of Llangollen backing us to have the event there. We’re planning a big, all singing, all dancing 3 day event – with FMX on Saturday night!
We’re also planning a 6 race National series for 2010…
It’s all down to the hard work fo 2010 and me and Si working as a team to get new people and companys into the sport”
Big plans then from the BDS team – 3 rounds in I reckon it’s a good sign. The races have a few hiccups here and there but generally things seem really positive. Good news from where I’m sat.
What do you guys think? Hit us up on the comments or drop me a line…

I think well bloody done!!! A lot of hard work has gone into this!
Blaaa of to a BMX race tomorrow so what do I know….
On behalf of One Giant Leap, Martin would like to say a huge thank you to all the riders who so fiercely competed in the spectacle that was BDS round 3 at Llangollen last weekend. Secondly thanks for all the post race support and comments, it seems to be becoming more to me than simply saying yes to the race, its now becoming personal. Last and most of all I would like to say thank you to Si, Dave and the gang. True professionals with honesty and integrity, qualities that are rarely seen together and I look forward to working with you all in the future.
Also a personal apology for the uplift issues on Saturday. We had several small problems with local traffic, poor traffic control and communication issues. All of which contributed to some more major problems later on in the day. My positive from that is after some serious planning on Saturday night and convincing nine taxi drivers who each had a theory and each was right to listen to me, we had a good system that worked well with some riders getting four runs in two hours before the seeding runs started.
Future developments are exciting and Si and Dave have my full backing. Watch our space for more information as I am keen to involve riders and supporters in developing our venue into something exciting that can be enjoyed by all. Once again, many thanks to all
