Orange Strange Prototype first look

Our good friends over at Orange love cooking up prototypes and seeing exactly what they can get away with in the search for the perfect ride…

The latest produce of the Orange labs is this protoype Strange – which WO contributor Alan Milway has got his hands on for a few weeks of joyriding.

The proto is based around the Orange Blood but has been rejiggled to sport 140mm travel, lightened up and given slightly more pedally angles. The idea is to build a bike that’s got the teeth for gnarly trails but that can still fly up the climbs.

Wet your appetites? We’ll have more from Alan on the proto in Wideopen issue 13!

  1. Erm… very simply… one contributes to Wideopen! Email us if you got any ideas and we’ll see if they fit! I should probably point out that being a contributor does not automatically entitle you to a protoype Orange whip (sadly).
