Uh Oh…. Man down!
Healing vibes to Wideopen team rider Wayne Appleby who is currently down and out after a big crash at Nant Gwrthyrn.
I just gave Wayne a call and he’s layed up in Glan Clwyd hospital getting probed by the docs. The story is that Wayne crashed his brains out at the Fort Bill NPS in 2009 and ended saying goodbye to both his pancreas and the rest of the season’s racing.
After a few weeks in Fort Bill hospital, a few more in Glasgow and then months of recovery he fought his way back to health and signed on for the Wideopen race team for 2010.
His latest crash happened up at Nant Gwyrthyrn after a big over the bars. Wappers walked off the hill and got taken to hospital by his mate Oshan where they’ve been running tests to make sure he hasn’t aggrovated any of the old injuries. With any luck he’ll be out today and reckons he’ll be racing Bala on Sunday!
Reason for the crash? Wappers reckons it’s cos he wasn’t running his usual Conti Der Kaiser tyres and didn’t have the usual grip he was used to!
Anyway – Get well soon Wayneyboy! Give him a shout if you see him on track this season!
