Ok so apologies if that news title was a bit dramatic, got to grab your attention yu know?
It looks after a lot of website work and some hard graft defending the cause, Si’s new ‘British DH Champs’ title has been overturned by the NPS. Apparently he fought the case at BC HQ but they were adamant that renaming the NPS to the ‘DH Champs’ would be confusing… So from now on it’s the ‘British DH Series’. Aside from that ‘issue’ reports from the meeting were good and BC are really positive about the series in 2010.
I suspect no one is really that bothered about the name… But most people will agree that British DH Series is pretty clear and should get the point across. Chip in on the comments if you have anything to say about it!
Here’s the official word from Mr Paton:
“Hi everyone,
Hope this message lands with you in fine form and the goose is getting fat and not you!
Just back from a meeting with British Cycling in Manchester and the corporate axe has swung. To keep in line with the lycra and spd crew the National Series has to have the word “series” in there!
So from now on you will be looking at the “British Downhill Series”.
Dave Franciosy is doing a fantastic job on keeping the website upto date. If you can see or think of any improvements then drop him a constructive note with your ideas and suggestions of help: dave@davefranciosy.co.uk”
