2012 Red Bull Rampage

Red Bull are notoriously well known within the extreme sports industry for their own events.  There’s got the ‘Red Bull Air Race’, the ‘X-Fighters’ and in mountain biking, you’ve got the Red Bull Rampage.

For those who haven’t seen it before, it’s basically mountain bikers with very little sense of danger throwing themselves down a mountain in Utah doing the biggest drops, tricks and picking the fastest line possible.

This year the Rampage is back, and we have three British riders competing.

Gee Atherton is heading back and will want to go one better on his second place last time out. Brendan Fairclough is also heading out there and will be hoping his super laid back style with lazy whips and nac-nacs will do the trick. The final Brit, is dirt jumper Sam Pilgrim who will be probably 360′ing and backflipping off everything in sight.

Here’s a glimpse at a few photos that some of the builders have been uploading to Facebook!

I’m pretty sure this is the Canyon gap. Back in again, but who will throw what off it this year? Photo from Jeremy Witek on Twitter.

More wooden features this year added to the highest possible start elevation means we’ll see a lot longer runs from all the athletes.

Utah always offers unique natural features which is the main reason why not only rampage, but riders keep returning there.

Pictures from the Official site of the Rampage on RedBull.com where you can find loads more information on the event including more photos, videos, and the full feature long film from the previous Rampage held in 2010.

The Red Bull Rampage takes place on October 7th and will be broadcast live on Red Bull!
