What a season! The UCI mountain bike downhill World Cup series is over, with the final battle taking place today at Hafjell Bike Park in Norway.

the Gwinning machine was just not fast enough today, no crashed and still 2 seconds down, all open in Val Di Sole
Despite not racing, Aaron Gwin took the overall series win for the men. Aaron knew at the end of the previous race that he just had to show up to win … meaning he was able to sit out today’s racing and recover from a hand injury he took in practice.
Rachel Atherton wasn’t guaranteed the win however and had to put in a storming run … The technical sections of Hafjell favoured her riding and she pulled it off – taking the overall female win.
And that’s the season over! It’s been an incredible – and very long – summer of racing with the action starting way back in South Africa early in the year.
Thanks to everyone that’s helped us bring you the action here at Wideopenmag.
Cheers!
