Rachel Atherton and Steve Smith fastest in Qualies at Hafjell

Qualification when down today at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Hafjell, Norway.

Rachel Atherton qualied fastest, with Manon Carpenter in second and Emmeline Ragot in third. Young gun Tahnee Seagrave also put in a great results for the Brits with a 6th place.

For the chaps it was Canadian Steve Smith that took the fastest time, followed Robin Wallner and George Brannigan. The results have a big, fat DNF next to Aaron Gwin which we’re told is the result of a hand injury. He apparently broke the beam at the top an deliberately didn’t complete his run so that he could race tomorrow.
