Saturday practice is done and dusted in Val D’Isere. Only the fastest get to ride today… Here’s Jacob Gibbins heavy hitting Saturday bangers.
Unior Tools Team’s Harry Heath started off slow this season but is finally getting up to speed and stomping out the results he deserves. 35th place in qualies today. Great work Baz! Look out for an interview with the Unior Tools Team in the next issue of Wideopenmag.
I gave Rich T a call last night to congratulate him on his awesome seeding result and he was grumbling about his broken toe and thought he wasn’t going to ride today to rest it up for Sunday. From the looks of it he couldn’t resist. Good luck for tomorrow mate!
Rach Atherton with the number 1 plate. UK National Champ and fastest qualifier yesterday. On her day she’s without doubt the fastest female racer in the world. Let’s hope she can keep it together for tomorrow. Good luck Rach!
And brother Gee – a disappointing 4th place in quali for him but hopefully just a case of playing it safe and keeping his powder dry for race day. Like his sister Rach, this is also Gee’s first race as the UK’s National Champion.
And of course no gallery would be complete without Aaron Gwin. In an almost exact copy of Fort William, Gwinny took a dive in qualies and ended up with a disappointing result. Like Fort William though, Gwinny will no doubt be calm, cool and unphased for race day. Check out VitalMTB for the full crash sequence!
Thanks again to Jacob Gibbins for the awesome images.
