And the big US and Canada World Cup tour is over with Aaron Gwin dominating at Mont St Anne and dominating at Windham.
Here’s Jacob Gibbins’ final photo-update from this leg of the World Cup 2012 story…

No surprises here – Aaron Gwin in first place. Perhaps more of a surprise was second place Steve Smith, with his best result at a World Cup to date. A great ride for the Canadian pinner.
Definitely one of our favourite riders and a total wrecking ball on a bike – it’s Adam Brayton. 29th place for Adam and one of his best results to date. He’s so capable of it on the right day and the right track … Let’s hope this is the start of a good streak for the Braytonator.
Gee Atherton – number 2 plate, number 3 on the day. Gee just isn’t getting the break he needs this year with his results going 4th, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 3rd so far. Yet another great result … but one that must be super disappointing to a guy that is probably the fastest rider in the world when it’s his day. With a solid result from Gee and a win from Rach, Atherton racing holds the overall team title.
Sambo Dale! 18th place! Another amazing result for Sambo and a great follow up to his top 10 at Fort William. The boys at Burgtec will be stoked! Great work Sambo – season of your life for sure?
And of course, it’s Aaron Gwin, photo’d here practicing before finals. That’s 4 World Cup wins in a row and showing no sign of slowing down. What else can we say…?
Huge thanks again to Jacob Gibbins for his awesome images from the World Cups. Look out for more from him next weekend at the Glencoe British Downhill Series race and at the next World Cup in a couple of weeks.
