Afternoon all, here’s a cheeky update from the guys over at the Rose Vaujany Gravity Team, got some good video and photo goodness!
Sympatex Bikefestival Willingen Germany4X Pro Tour Finals presented by Rose & Milka Wheels of Speed
Team video by Chris Thomas
Good 4X and Downhill results at Sympatex Bike Festival in Willingen:The good classifications are pilling up for the Rose Vaujany Gravity Team. Joost Wichman came second in the final round of the 4X Pro Tour 2012 presented by Rose.
Katy Curd also took a podium spot and ended up fifth. Nico Vink our DH specialist surprised again in 4X and made it into the small final and took a well deserved 7th place. In the overall ranking Katy and Joost both took 3rd place.
The day after the 4X Pro Tour finals presented by Rose, Nico got himself a podium spot during the Milka Wheels of Speed World Downhill Challenge; fifth place!
The weekend in Willingen was full of spectacular races. The finals in the men’s 4X was a good example. Joost had a slow start, after David Graf took the LEATT BRACE holeshot bonus, Joost reconsidered his tactics and took the lead midway. In the last corner David Graf dived underneath him and beat him on the finish line.
Nico showed his enormous potential during this event. Not only by setting good results but also by demonstrating his excellent style, whips and moves. Katy was still bothered by an ankle injury, suffered in Fort William. Pity, because she had chances on the overall title. She’ll be back next year for the win!
Bikefestival Fort William Schotland4X Pro tour round #4 & UCI DH World Cup
One week before the Willingen bike festival, the Rose Vaujany Team travelled to Schotland for the 4th round of the 4X Pro tour. Fort William will be remembered as remarkable and amazing. Great races and good results for the Rose Vaujany Gravity Team.
Big talent, Petrik Bruckner got into the big final of a big race for the first time in his career. He rode great this weekend and saw his performance rewarded with a superb second place, behind world champion Prokop.
The succes of the Rose Vaujany was completed by team manager Joost Wichman who finished 3rd, although he was a bit disappointed about that result. Fourth was Tomas Slavik, who became the overall winner of the 2012 4X Pro Tour.
Katy Curd had a strange weekend. Her qualification was a bit off, but in the semi finale she started very strong and took the lead over world champion Anneke Beerten. But unfortunately Katy almost crashed and lost her shoe… she did not make the final, but won the small final and took home the last podium spot.
Katy: “well trying to race with one shoe doesn’t really work!”
Melissa Buhl won, Celine Gros second and Suzanne Lacey got 3rd!
One day later the World Cup DH was on the program!Nico showed some great style, by wipping all the big tables on the already famous “motorway” in Fort William. At the end of the day Nico took a solid 43th Place.
