Yep – the internet’s worst kept secret has finally been made official – the Athertons are on GT. Marc Beaumont has also resigned for the team this year.
In a simple Facebook one-liner the team ended their years of riding Commencal and move on to America giants GT this morning:
“It’s official Atherton Racing and GT bicycles join forces http://athertonracing.co.uk/”
It’s lucky they kept it brief because all of the interest has managed to crash the Atherton Racing site!
Aside from the new frames and the team up with Marc Beaumont the downhill setup is largely the same. The biggest bit of news looks to be that Dan will now focus his attention on the high-profile Enduro events. Awesome news indeed and should be a big boost to that side of the sport.

My first thought exactly Taff. Really confused me. Still, should be interesting, not keen on the bike, and it got pretty bad reviews. We’ll see.
