Time for a quick shout out to the HaloBDS crew and – in particular – the man, the myth Dave Franciosy.
Dave just announced that he has made thedecision to take a rest from co-running the Halo British Downhill Series for 2012.
We’ve been attending, racing, covering and partying at the nationals for a few years now and we were stoked to see Dave and Si take over organisation of the events a few years back and we’re happy to say that we think the events have gone from strength to strength.
Dave has always been a super positive force at the races and has always worked his arse off to make sure that the races are super well attended by the media, that there’s top notch facilities for us journos and that we’ve always got the opportunity to get the best shots and the best angles. Sure – he’s a grumpy old bastard at times – but we actually kind of like that. We also like the fact that he’s always going out of his way to motor filmers up the hill, always fighting to get new sponsors and always hassling us to get stuck in and cover the races.
Anyway – without giving him too big a head – we just wanted to say cheers for all of the hard work and that we’ll probably (but only a little bit) miss you in 2012. Get your ass fixed up and get back to the races so we’ve got someone to argue with!
