Merchandise Monday!

We’ve had some product land through our letterbox recently courtesy of Dare2b and The North Face, here’s a quick run down of the goods. Since it’s raining I thought I’d go stand outside for their first little test and take some snaps..

Firstly here’s The North Face Muddy Tracks jacket, priced at £110 it’s got some neat features including a two pockets (one chest and one at the back) and a nice cut which covers your backside to avoid the getting a bit soggy on long rides!

Next up is the Levada shorts, priced at £75 come with a removal liner, look pretty low key and are built with some nice tough materials.

On to Dare2b, you will have seen this jacket at the Fort William World Cup being expertly modelled by the nice chaps at Orange Bikes, this is the Struckout Jacket, the design seems to be a bit marmite but we certainly love it! Available for bang on £50 from the Dare2b website this is a bit of a bargain! No frills, just a waterproof.

Next up is our favourite bit of Dare2b product, the Buckshot softshell hoodie. Made from a windproof and water resistant fabric it’s ideal for those days when the winds up and it looks like it might rain too (pretty much every weekend then..). RRP is £50 but hunt around and you’ll find it cheaper!

The Nimble jacket below is for days when it’s royally pissing it down, made with a bit of stretch it should keep you dry and comfortable. A few more pockets than anything else, this is a crossover jacket for hillwalking, biking, climbing.. you name it.

The Fuseline is a cross between a midweight fleece and a base layer, designed to wick away sweat but still keep you warm.. but perhaps more for the winter riding bag? (RRP £30)

Baselayers are possibly one of the best clothing creations of the last decade.. keeping you dry and comfortable on a ride we’ll be testing these out against the likes of Helly Hansen and The North Face to see just what they’re like.

At £50 these Buckeroo shorts are a bit of a steal and they look like they’ll be up for a bit of nonsense, perhaps not down the DH track but for XC these could be just what you need?

And last but not least, something a bit different. We’ve reading The Albion for all two issues of it’s short life, created by a few guys who wanted to make something a bit different from the mainstream, free to read (find it in any one of the BMX shops on their website, or subscribe for the price of postage) we identified with it pretty quickly. Despite having sold my small wheels many moons ago this magazine has some cracking articles that anyone on two wheels will associate with, along with some great photography and top notch design. Check it out, it’s in pride of place at our place! Visit thealbion.cc for more info.

Check back in the next issue for reviews of the kit listed above and the usual bicycle related mayhem..

If you liked this post why not check out these?
