Juice Lubes signs Wideopen issue 9 coverstar
Our mates over at Juicelubes have signed Adam Price - Wideopen Issue 9′s covershot superstar. Adam’s from down Gawton way and was spotted by WO snapper Milky who featured him in one of his vids and snapped some shots of him for our Gawton article and front cover. He’ll be repping for Juice Lubes from now on – well done fella!
You can check out the Juicelubes website here – try out some of their products – we’ll have a full repo in Issue 10 and have been pretty happy with ‘em up to now!
Kill the Bill results and repo
Russ Harland brought home the bacon in masters and the ever present Stevie Boyd in the Vets. The girls turned out too with Angela Coates taking the win. There was some Expert action in the form of MSC’s Ross Anderson taking the top step and the Elite race was sewn up by Ben Cathro in 5 minutes dead.
Thanks to all for a great weekend, notably all the Marshalls, Dales Cycles, Giant UK, Specialized UK, Vitamin Water and the SDA for the timing. This was Bordeline-events first race in Scotland and it seemed to go down well, so well done Mike and the guys for a great weekends racing.

Nuke Proof Reactor lights
Nukeproof Reactor
Offering 900Lumens of night-blasting power with a burn time of 4hrs, NukeProof’s Reactor light is one of the highest performing light units on the market. Packaged complete with different diffuser lens, a helmet mount, a very smart charger, all for an incredible price, it’s sure to be a top seller for commuters and offroad night-riders alike.
The Nukeproof Reactor uses the Seoul Semiconductors P7 Emmiter – which combines 4 leds in one single component – we’ve sourced the highest commercial grade which is available in a good quantity – the D rated model – which for the technical amongst you pushes out 310,000Lux at just 8watt current drain. Compared to the lower grade C rated units, we get more power and better efficiency, which means we can get that from our 4cell battery, we get an amazing 900 Lumen darkness punching power combined with a burn time that’s nearly twice as long as our leading competitors.
Such power and efficiency means different thing for different people.
FORGETFUL FRED
Turn up at the night ride having forgotten to charge your light? Our high capacity battery and switchable lamp mean that you’re more likely to be able to get the whole way round without being plunged into darkness. Our batteries also have power-level indicators, and the lamp unit also has a “oh oh, you’re getting low” light indicator, letting you switch down to a lower power level and get back to the pub in time, and safe too.
COMMUTING CARL
Our hi-vis flashing mode light will keep running for so long, we’ve not even had it run out yet. And we’ve even given you three modes to choose from – either the light is pulsing at a medium power steady pace, the light is always on medium power setting intensity pulse or the light is always on low power setting with a repeated pattern of five high intensity strobes followed by a short pause. Even better news, our engineers are working on a plug-in tail light that will work with our battery pack via a splitter line. It’s coming!
ENDURANCE ERIC
Twentyfour solo hour racing? With 4hrs per pack, all you need to do is add in an accessory large capacity battery pack to double your burn time to 8hrs which should be enough to see you through the night (well, except for those scary winter races). Play supersafe and pack a lightweight 2 cell pack as a spare in your emergency kit.
MYOPIC MALCOLM
Always wanted some more power but can’t afford the brightest lights around? Add in an extra headlamp and bar mount, and double your power, but with a full 2hrs burn time on FULL brightness, you’ll be burning retinas with your 1800Lumens of power. Mix up the filters on the lights to get the most of the flood/spot options. It’s all there for you to do.

The 5th and final round of the Pearce series went down this weekend on an all new track at Bucknell. Simmonds was fastest fella and Jess Stone fastest girl. Emma Wareham and Dave Smith won the overall Elite prizes for the whole series. Well done all! Full results are here.
HUGE shout to Pearce for another amazing season.
STEVE PEAT – WORLD CHAMPION – the video
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more elated man on the top spot of the podium. It looked like it was his a few years ago in Les Gets 05 but he binned it in sight of the line but no such bad luck this time. Steve Peat is the WORLD CHAMPION. Definitely the best news I’ve ever reported and it’ll take some beating.
Check the video, courtesy of our man Mono out in Canberra reporting for our friends at MTBCut.tv
I’ll finish with this. Steve Peat is the 2009 UCI Downhill World Champion. Believe it yet?!
The 2009 World DH Championships – f*ck yeah
Jared Graves and Caroline Buchanan are 4X WORLD CHAMPS
Yep! That’s right – 4X is over and done with out in OZ and Jared Graves and Caroline Buchanan are your 2009 4X WORLD CHAMPIONS.
