Welsh Champs Update #1 – Tidy!

August 30th, 2009

It’s the Welsh Champs this weekend and with any luck our mate Zippy will fire us some updates over… Surprisingly – there’s sod all going on at the moment and it’s starting to rain so not much to report… Everyone’s probably still drunk and trying to get their first few practice runs dialled in.

Here’s a photo of the pits that Zippy just fired over. Good luck all! Tidy!

Descent Gear Unclipped Moelfre – DATE CHANGE

August 27th, 2009

Hi Everyone,

Due to unforeseen circumstances Borderline Events is having to change the date of the Moelfre race in September.

There have been many reasons for change and all of these beyond our control and for this we can only apologise for the inconvenience.

The date will be changed to 09th – 11th October.

The format will be exactly the same and run Fri, Sat and Sunday.

If anyone cannot make this date then we can offer a full refund.

If you are happy to change then you do not need to notify us – However if you cannot make the new date please notify us by 01st September.

This is certainly not something that we wish to ever happen again and we hope you can understand that we have certainly not taken this decision lightly – In fact we are very disappointed.

We would like to thank our sponsors ‘Descent Gear’, our medics ‘Extreme Medical’ and the timing team over at Pearce Cycles for understanding the position we have found ourselves in.

We now look forward to the event in October.

Once again we can only apologise for the inconvenience.

Kind Regards

Mike Marsden

New Identiti Krisis SL frame

August 22nd, 2009

doc-2009-08-20_1c23_1

“We will be showing this new frame for the first time at Eurobike but here is a quick look.

Our long standing Krisis 4x frame has seen four very good seasons propelling our riders to National Championships and top 10 finishes at UCI World Cups.

But now we have taken our multi-championship winning frame one step further and produced the Krisis SL.

This brand new frame has been designed to be light, stiff and responsive as well as looking good.

The geometry has been refined and tweaked in mind of the courses that are being ridden today to make it more stable and faster.

We have also shaved a massive one lb off the frame weight. To remove this weight we have stripped it down to basics to create a pure race bred machine.

Weighing in at only 3.89lb’s its one of the lightest 4x race frames on the market today.

Also pictured is Team Identiti rider Pat Campbell-Jenner’s Krisis SL prototype race bike.

Cheers
Matt

Chaos reigns supreme

August 17th, 2009

As usual with Issue deadline time things are mad busy with Jamie and I – and we’re more than aware of our humongous lateness with Issue 10. Things outside of Wideopen have conspired against the pair of us but trust me when I say we’re pulling out the stops, working through ’til dawn and hammering the coffee hard to bring you another storming issue.

So hold on tight – we’re nearly there!

NPSDH Rd4 – Caersws: Simmonds and Gaskell on top of the box

August 16th, 2009

Yep you knows it – Rd4 of the NPSDH went down this weekend at Caersws. Matt Simmonds took the top spot for the boys with Helen Gaskell doing it for the girls.

Being the AAA pro that he is Eggprahy’s Scott Cartwright just fired over a few shots of the action. Nice one to him and nice one to everyone that got their assess out to Caersws and supported the National Series.

rach

The Atherton’s have announced that Rachel WON’T race this season and won’t be racing the World Champs as hoped. Instead she’ll be concentrating on getting fit and up to speed for 2010.

Tough decision but probably a sensible one. Good luck to her and the team. Check out the full story here.

UK Industry: Sarruma – King of the Mountain

August 12th, 2009

sarrumasample2

You have stumbled across the fore-front of lifestyle design. Here at Sarruma, we have tackled diversity, defintion, design and style head on with our new clothing label.

Sarruma was formed in 2009 by three young guys based in Leicester. Ben always had a plan at the back of his mind as did Medley and Rob. After Rob, who graduated from Loughborough University with a Graphic Design degree, hooked up with us and bought into this plan, we knew the direction we wanted to take. After meeting in the middle and taking on the roles ofn’do’er’s and designers, the rest, as they say, is history.

As a new clothing label we want to put emphasis on promoting the talent that exists in the UK, of both sportsmen and women, designers and the youth of today.

From our sponsored riders to the manufacture and design of our unique clothing range and custom lids, Sarruma endeavors to be a key builder and developer of new facilities for the young and old right here in the UK. We feel the name ‘Sarruma’ (a Hurrian god whose name means ‘King of the Mountains’) was the perfect identity for this project.

We have addressed some of the most pressing issues in our world, from our packaging hanger to our clothing, we aim to be green. We also aim to bring you the best looking and fitting garments. So with this in mind we launch our range to you off the back of a small unique range but watch as we grow rapidly, moving focus onto more technical garments and even componentry in the near future.

Recently, we have arranged a clothing design collaboration with students from De Montfort University, and gained our first sponsored rider, ready to compete in nationwide events.

We are very pleased to have completed our website, and we will be updating regularly so you can follow us as we grow…
